Who's Doing What

Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, NY, has announced its 2007 Festival Season, unveiling four new productions this summer, each based on the myth of Orpheus. Monteverdi's L'Orfeo (in a co-production with Opera North, UK, and Norwegian Opera), directed by Christopher Alden and running July 28 to August 25, will feature set design by Paul Steinberg, lighting design by Adam Silverman, and costume design by Doey Lüthi. Gluck's/Berlioz's Orphée et Eurydice will be directed by Lillian Groag and run July 8 to August 28, with set design by John Conklin, lighting design by Robert Wierzel, and costume design by Constance Hoffman. Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld, directed by Eric Einhorn and running July 7 to August 26, includes set design by Allen Moyer, lighting design by Shawn K. Kaufman, and costume design by Gabriel Berry. Philip Glass' Orphée will be directed by Sam Helfrich and run July 21 to August 27, with sets by Andrew Lieberman, lighting by Aaron Black, and costumes by Kaye Voyce. For productions with sound effects, sound is designed by Joel Morain, audio/visual coordinator.

Reefer Madness: The Musical is at The Studio Theatre in Washington, DC from July 11 to August 5, with Jason Cowperthwaite as LD, Erik Trester on sound and projections, and costumes by Yvette Ryan.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is currently holding its annual Outdoor Stage production, and this year, in celebration of the company's 45th anniversary, presents A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Greek Theatre on the campus of the College of St. Elizabeth's in Convent Station from June 19 through July 22. Creating the magical Athenian forest on the hillside of Morris County is set designer Richard Block, costume designer C. David Russell, and lighting designer Andrew Hungerford, with Christine Whalen as production stage manager.

Crazy Love opened June 21 and runs until July 28 in Jackson Hole, WY, at the Off Square Theatre, the resident company at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts. The pre-Broadway tryout features lighting by Neil Anderson, set by Dex Edwards, and sound by Bobby Beck. Anderson is a professional designer out of Atlanta, Edwards is an award-winning designer out of Mississippi, and Beck is the resident sound designer at the Barter Theatre in Virginia.

Auerbach Pollock Friedlander Performing Arts/Media Facilities Planning and Design has appointed Donald Guyton, senior associate, to the New York office, and Kent Conrad, associate in the San Francisco office.

Theatre Projects Consultants (TPC) has promoted David H. Rosenburg to associate principal and Tom Davis, Millie Dixon, Leonard Greenwood, and Jules Lauve III to associates.
