Dallas-based lighting manufacturer Vari-Lite International will be selling its London-based subsidiary Brilliant Stages, Ltd., to a subsidiary of Tomcat Global Corporation. Details of the transaction have not been released.
Brilliant Stages designs and constructs stage sets for touring bands, television shows, and trade events.
Vari-Lite's chairman and CEO, Rusty Brutsche, notes that he has been friends with Tomcat president Mitch Clark for some time and that a "real synergy" exists between Tomcat and Brilliant Stages. He adds, "We have every confidence that this change will be to the benefit of both organizations and that Brilliant Stages will continue to flourish under Tomcat's management."
This announcement comes as Vari-Lite reshapes its future by focusing on what the company describes as "core business opportunities in professional automated lighting and sound reinforcement products and services."
