Rugby World Cup 2003 opened on October 10th at Telstra Stadium in Sydney, Australia, with a cast of thousands, including hundreds of schoolchildren, and a technical crew of about 200. With a budget of AUS$5 million, the ceremony was one of the most technically advanced shows ever produced in this country and was aired on television to an estimated audience of one billion.
