Riedel Communications RPL 2000 Series Intercom

Riedel Communications' Artist systems are designed as powerful matrix platforms for intercom and the routing of analog and digital audio and TCP/IP data. The fiber based dual ring network topology provides a decentralized infrastructure for your live audio and talkback. IP routing can be used to remote control mic-preamps or multi-track recorders, DMX lighting systems, etc. The master-less architecture provides safety for the entire system.

The RPL 2000 series from Riedel is a two-wire party line intercom system for modern event technology. Easy handling, high audio quality, ruggedness of the belt packs and master stations make the RPL 2000 a useful intercom system for all mobile and fixed installations in theatres, TV, corporate events as well as for rental companies. The product design is conspicuous, modern, and practical.

The product range includes: 2- and 4-channel master stations for 19"-rackmount and desktop applications; 1- and 2-channel belt packs; system power supply; and Four-wire interfaces to connect radios, cameras, paging systems etc.

Belt packs and master stations are interconnected using standard microphone cables. One or alternatively two intercom channels can be transmitted via the microphone cable with the RPL 2000 party line intercom system. The system offers call light signal and the special call S-CALL per channel. This S-CALL function is detected in the 4-channel master station and the 4-wire interface. This allows, for example, radio transmitter keying or switching of 70V paging systems. Mic-Kill allows remote mute of open microphones of other intercom stations for each party line channel individually.

The RPL 2000 series is compatible with ASL, Clear-ComÆ and RTS/TelexÆ party line systems.

iMatte — iSkia

iMatte Inc., sister company to the Ultimatte Corporation, introduces the first of its products: iSkia (Greek for The Shadow.) It is a hardware device that interfaces between the host computer and projector. It allows the image to be projected on the screen but not on the presenter. The elimination of dangerously blinding light and distracting projected graphics on the presenter creates a presentation that feels completely natural. iSkia requires no special software on the presenterís computer, works with any projector, and is interactive. iSkia generates a mask to selectively inhibit the projected image, which also enables Leading Edge, which utilizes this mask to control the computerís cursor to follow the presenterís hand, making it easy to underline, drag or highlight presentation elements. Leading Edge requires no additional hardware on or near the screen, unlike other systems.
