Prairie Lights to shine over Chicago

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) North Central Region has announced that for the first time in many years, a major lighting show and conference will take place in the Midwest. Prairie Lights, hosted by the Chicago section of IESNA, will be held September 17-18 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 East Wacker Drive.

Attendees--architects, consulting engineers, lighting designers, interior designers, and contractors--will gather for two full days of exhibits and educational seminars. Topics will include How to Get What You Specify, Mesopic Vision, and Lighting Design Ethics. A variety of social activities is also planned.

Says Peter A. Hugh, IESNA, IALD, CIE, president of the Chicago section, "We are very excited to bring a show of this caliber to the Midwest area. We polled designers, manufacturers, reps, and others to determine what would constitute an interesting, educational, and successful show to them, and came up with the concept of Prairie Lights. With 50 quality manufacturers' exhibits and noted speakers on a variety of relevant topics, anyone in the Midwest who deals in lighting in any capacity will more than get their money's worth."
