Patrick Woodroffe Conducts Clay Paky Seminars in Mexico

Italian lighting manufacturer Clay Play and Vector 10, its Mexican distributor, held a professional lighting seminar in Mexico City January 31 to February 2, with LD Patrick Woodroffe toplined. The seminar, attended by 300, was presented in collaboration with Miller Mix, Grupo Communica, and Ingenieria Electrodigital, at the Flamingo Plasa Hotel.

Woodroffe is one of the most famous LDs in the world, having designed for the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, and Tina Turner, as well as many other sorts of presentations (he has also lit part of the Prince of Wales' country house). Woodrooffe drew on his rich experience to illustrate his ideas about the techniques and technologies of professional lighting.

The final day of the seminar was dedicated to showing the complete range of Clay Paky products, including the new Golden Spot 1200 and Golden Color 1200 moving body units. Francesco Romagnoli, Clay Paky sales manager for the Americas, also introduced the “Silent Version” models of the Clay Paky product line, which are discussed in this month's product news. The event ended with a dinner party at Zipango, a local restaurant, which was lit entirely, as one might expect, by Clay Paky projectors.
