In Memory: Robert John (BJ) Schiller

The industry is saddened by the death of BJ Schiller, head of research and development for Syncrolite.

Schiller started working at Showco in 1972, touring as a sound engineer with Van Morrison. He also toured with and/or mixed sound for Bread, Sean Phillips, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, and Leon Russell, and he toured extensively with The Rolling Stones. He worked as shop manager his last three years at Showco. Schiller went to work for Syncrolite in 1981, developing new lighting products and gaining purchasing and production responsibility for the projects he developed.

Schiller is survived by his companion, Rosemary; his mother, Ruby Schiller; and his son, Robbie.
