Israel at 50

Jubilee Bells, a gala performance that marked Israel's 50th independence day, was held April 30 at Givat Ram in Jerusalem. LD Avi Yona Buono ("Bambi") and a team of 20 lighting professionals worked two weeks on the performance, which used a stage rented from Pink Floyd. Danor, the largest lighting supplier in Israel, was responsible for the rigging and lighting, which included 172 moving lights, 700 conventional units, and 10 Ireos from Space Cannon. Israel-based Compulite supplied 360 dimmers, one Sabre console for the stage lighting (plus one for backup), and one Spark console for the TV lighting for the event, broadcast in a number of countries. Ofer Brum programmed the Sabres.
