Phil O'Donnell Appointed Strand CEO Phil O'Donnell has been appointed CEO of Strand Lighting. The announced was made by the Strand board of directors and is effective immediately.
O'Donnell is one of Strand's more long-term staffers, having started there 22 years ago. During that time, his positions have included managing director of Strand Asia, and president of Strand Lighting Inc. For the past 12 years, he has been running the global sales department and has also served as a member of the company's board. He has played an especially key role in the company since its acquisition from Rank in 1996.
Concurrent with his appointment, O'Donnell has put together a new executive team; Peter Rogers will now be global sales and marketing director, and Bill Campbell will become managing director for all European operations. This trio will take over day-to-day management of Strand. Former managing director Jim Ryan, who has piloted the company since it was acquired by Schroeders Ventures in 1996, will remain on the Strand board as a major shareholder.
