The International Communications Industries Association, Inc. (ICIA) has introduced InfoComm Academy as a new way to learn OnDemand. On-Demand is an offering of rich-media presentations, focusing on AV technologies, technical procedures, and business practices, such as projector basics, LCD monitor and plasma technology comparisons, and correctly configuring a mix-minus audio system. To introduce the program, ICIA is offering one OnDemand course at no charge.
Sponsored by Sonic Foundry, Inc., InfoComm Academy OnDemand captures curriculum materials typically taught during onsite seminars and brings those presentations to the Web, making training available to a greater number of students.
InfoComm 2004 provided one of the first opportunities for InfoComm Academy to gather significant content for its new online education and training program. Students of OnDemand learning earn credit toward their ICIA certification (CTS) renewal. OnDemand presentations are open to anyone at a nominal charge and are discounted to ICIA members.
