ETC International announced recently that Bill Gallinghouse will be rejoining the company in the newly created role of vice president of business development. In this position, he will be responsible for special projects and will initially be concentrating on the coordination of international sales efforts. Mark Vassallo, president of ETC Americas, says that Gallinghouse will be working closely with the sales teams of the three ETC trading companies — ETC Asia, ETC Europe, and ETC Americas to deliver the companies' products and services to the global market. Gallinghouse originally joined ETC in 1990 as vice president of sales and subsequently served as managing director of ETC Europe between 1996 and 1998. For the last three years, he served as senior vice president of sales for Fourth Phase (previously known as the PRG lighting companies)….Tracoman has named touring veteran Bob Looney as director of special projects, a position that involves creating growth and expanding support systems for both Tracoman and Coemar in all areas of professional event lighting. Looney has previously worked at RA Roth and, most recently, Light & Sound Design. He will work out of Atlanta….Cinnabar California, Inc., a Burbank-based full-service scenic construction and special effects company catering to the movie and themed entertainment industries, has attained ISO 9001 registration from the Quality Management Institute. Adopting ISO 9001 is a pioneering move for a service-oriented company like Cinnabar. (The process is most frequently undertaken by manufacturers.) In fact, Cinnabar is the first entertainment company to qualify. According to CEO Jonathan Katz, holding the company to this internationally recognized standard allows it to compete more effectively in today's global marketplace. “ISO certification has enabled us to ensure quality control and boost productivity,” he says. “It also is an effective management tool for reinvigorating a company that has gotten set in its ways. The ISO certification process acted as a change agent to propel our business into the new century.”…Frank Gordon, High End Systems' CEO, has left High End to consider new opportunities. As a result, High End is conducting a search for a new CEO to replace Gordon. The company expects to complete the search quickly; Gordon originally joined HES in 1998 with the closing of the equity investment by Generation Partners of New York. HES chairman Lowell Fowler stated, “Frank's leadership and assistance have been invaluable in securing High End's growth and profitability, while positioning the company for future growth.” Gordon will remain at HES as CEO until the search process is complete….Strand US has appointed Michael Lay to the position of vice president of engineering. Lay began his professional theatre career as an Off Broadway production electrician after graduating from college with a degree in technical theatre. In recent years he has held senior engineering and project management positions and has worked on a wide range of projects, including the Crown Casino Atrium Show in Australia, Disneyland's Fantasmic Show in California, and Cirque du Soleil Theatre/Bellagio Hotel, the Flamingo Hotel showroom, and Caesars Forum Atlantis Fountain Show, all in Las Vegas….Morpheus Lights has announced the resignation of Jim Gordon, vice president of sales and marketing, who has left to pursue new opportunities. Dan English, vice president of operations, will assume additional responsibilities for marketing and sales. “Jim and I worked together for many years to bring the highest level of service to our customers,” says English. “Morpheus will continue to provide top quality systems and personnel to the touring industry. We've evolved our FlipBox packaging system to provide unsurpassed efficiency using the full range of automated and conventional fixtures available in today's market.”…Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) has appointed Jeffrey Mason to the position of market manager for installation products. A seven — year veteran of EAW, Mason has held many positions internally, such as product specialist, product manager, and market manager for retail products, where his responsibilities further increased with the direct management of sales channels for a number of EAW product lines. As market manager for installation products, he will be in charge of furthering and maintaining EAWs largest and most extensive product lines, as well as the growth of the international and domestic contracting market that was previously handled by Jon Sager. This position will allow him to work very closely with the consultant community designers and design/building contractors to develop and implement sound systems for numerous installations such as, stadiums, arenas, clubs, and houses of worship worldwide….
