Backstage Las Vegas Goes Behind The Scenes

Three Las Vegas shows will be part of the itinerary for Backstage Las Vegas, the insider's tour of all that's new in Las Vegas, on October 18-20 as part of The Entertainment Technology Show-LDI2004. Each evening show will be followed by a discussion with designers and technicians in the theatre. The three shows are as follows:

Monday, October 18

We Will Rock You at Paris Las Vegas. This new musical by Queen and Ben Elton has been a sell-out hit in London for the past three years and is making its US debut in Las Vegas this fall. The production design for this show is by Willie Williams and Mark Fisher, with sound design by Bobby Aiken, and costumes by Tim Goodchild.

Tuesday, October 19

Zumanity is another dimension of Cirque du Soleil, (for 18 years and older), at New York New York. Zumanity was written and directed by Dominic Champagne and René Richard Cyr, two accomplished theatre directors from Quebec. The rest of the team includes Andrew Watson, director of creation; Thierry Mugler, creator and costume designer; Stéphane Roy, set designer; Luc Lafortune, lighting designer; Jonathan Deans, sound designer; Natacha Merritt, photographer and projection image designer.

Wednesday, October 20

Jubilee! at Bally's. The quintessential Las Vegas musical revue by Donn Arden comes complete with showgirls, elaborate costumes and staging with a cast of 100. A must see, now that the show has all new lighting by Ken Billington.
