Production Resource Group has acquired A-1 Audio Inc., prominent in the field of audio systems and, more recently, lighting systems, for concert touring.
A-1 Audio joins ProMix, Electrotec, and Burns Audio in PRG's Audio Group. With this acquisition, the group now offers a truly national service with key locations including New York, Orlando, Nashville, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, PRG says. It is also prominent in London.
"Our depth--in geography, personnel, and areas of expertise--is now unprecedented," says Lew Mead, PRG Audio Group president. "Our group consists of some of the best people in their fields. We now have a strong presence in Broadway theatre, concert touring, special events, television, corporate theatre, and installations."
A-1 Audio was founded in 1969 by Albert V. Siniscal as an outgrowth of his work for early 1970s tours with the Righteous Brothers and the Doobie Brothers. Says Siniscal, "We are proud to be part of the PRG Audio Group. We will now be able to provide the same quality service for the next 30 years that we have for the past 30."
Siniscal will continue on as a senior advisor to the PRG Audio Group. Gary Hardesty, Ted Leamy, and Tom Sorce will make up the core of the leadership team for the group's West Coast audio operations.
PRG, which christened its massive Las Vegas facility with a cocktail bash during April's NAB show, has made some other announcements. Sam Spennacchio, formerly the national sales manager of Crest Audio, has been hired as president of Northeast operations for Signal Perfection Ltd. (SPL), the cornerstone of the PRG Systems Group. Electronics systems contractor Ancha Electronics has been added to the systems group, joining SPL and Thoughtful Designs. And Minneapolis-based design and fabrication firm HaasMultiples, which PRG acquired last December, has changed its name to Entolo and added offices in New York, Las Vegas, and Houston for client convenience.
