Booth Awards and Debuting Product Awards announced every year during LDI. Nominate a product for a Debuting Product Award via your LDI Exhibitor Console. This year, LDI will introduce the Sustainability Award. This award is a special citation for sustainability efforts—either environmental or community—whether in your manufacturing process, daily company operation, or community outreach. Consideration will be given to companies demonstrating exceptional efforts in reducing their carbon footprints or giving back to the community or a combination of the two. See you at LDI 2019, November 18-24 in Las Vegas!
To encourage diversity in the live event design community, LDI, in partnership with TSDCA and USITT, announce the Pat MacKay Diversity In Design scholarships for students currently enrolled in lighting, digital media, and sound design programs on an undergraduate level, as well as high school seniors who have been accepted to an undergraduate college or university design program. Funded by LDI and Live Design, the scholarships have been introduced to support the underrepresented and unique voices in the field of entertainment design. The scholarships are named for Pat MacKay, formerly publisher of Theatre Crafts and Lighting Dimensions magazines and founder of the LDI Trade Show and Conference. She is a USITT Fellow and has served as a mentor for multiple generations of industry professionals.
Established and sponsored by Live Design/LDI, the Rising Star Award recognizes excellence and artistic achievement in the areas of scenic, lighting, sound, and projection design, or the convergence of these design disciplines. The award is given at the beginning of a career to a young designer in their first four years of professional (non-academic) work, following the completion of their highest degree and presented at USITT Conference & Stage Expo.
Each year, a panel of prestigious designers, programmers, and engineers awards several new products in the Lighting, Video/Projection, and Sound sectors. The 2018-19 Products of the Year will be announced soon.
