Wireless Solution Sweden AB is proud to announce the launch of “Wireless University,” an ongoing series of presentations and hands-on demonstrations aimed at educating the industry on the technology and benefits of wireless DMX.

The program kicked off during PLASA with a special seminar titled “Wireless Control Technology” held on Monday, September, 10. The Seminar Theatre in Earls Court was standing room only, as more than double the number of registered attendees showed up for the discussion.

The next introductory session will be held during LDI 2007 on November 15 from 3:00pm-5:30pm as part of LDI Institute’s “The Magic of Wireless DMX and Dimming” in conjunction with other manufacturers of wireless products. This session will help attendees compare and contrast the various wireless technologies available on the market today.

Wireless University courses will continue throughout 2008 in all major exhibitions worldwide. Two kinds of courses will be offered: general overviews and more technical courses, with completion earning a “diploma,” certifying the holder as a master WDMX technician, available for onsite support.

Also in 2008, Wireless Solution will host road shows and open houses in Europe, America, Middle East, and Asia, which will give industry professionals a chance to not only learn about the technology and see for themselves how it works in personal demonstrations. In addition, lighting designers and other professionals from high profile events will be invited as keynote speakers to share their experience with WDMX.

Niclas Norlén, R&D manager and founder of Wireless Solution explains, ”Wireless Control is rapidly increasing in popularity and one of our missions is to educate people to get a better understanding for this technology. What we see today is if someone fails with his or her wireless installation, no matter what the reason, it gives wireless control a bad reputation in general. Today there are a few good producers of professional wireless control equipment and we would all benefit from a seminar.”

The introductory seminar focus includes:

  • Pros and cons of wireless control
  • How it works
  • Radio protocols (WLAN, Bluetooth, etc.)
  • How to choose a radio system
  • System planning
  • Peripheral equipment
“We’re very excited about the educational series,” says Niclas Arvidsson, international sales manager and founder of Wireless Solution. “We encourage everyone to attend—dealers, specifiers, students—no matter what level of knowledge on the subject. It’s meant to teach. The more people know about the technology, the quicker it will become a standard practice and help make a lot of installations easier and in most cases, more cost effective.”
