Projects can be nominated in the following categories: Club Venues, Theatres/Performing Arts Venues, Arenas/Stadiums, Themed/Experiential Venues, Museum/Exhibits, Temporary Video Installation, and Temporary Lighting Installation. These awards are an opportunity to be recognized among your peers in the industry as voting will be open to Live Design readers.

LDI Awards

Booth Awards and Debuting Product Awards are announced every year during LDI. Nominate a product for a Debuting Product Award via your LDI Exhibitor Console. Booth Awards are selected by an anonymous panel of judges. In 2019, LDI introduced the Sustainability Award, which is a special citation for sustainability efforts—either environmental or community—whether in your manufacturing process, daily company operation, or community outreach. Consideration will be given to companies demonstrating exceptional efforts in reducing their carbon footprints or giving back to the community or a combination of the two.

Pat MacKay Diversity In Design Scholarships

To encourage diversity in the live event design community, LDI, in partnership with TSDCA and USITT, announce the Pat MacKay Diversity In Design scholarships for students currently enrolled in lighting, digital media, and sound design programs on an undergraduate level, as well as high school seniors who have been accepted to an undergraduate college or university design program. Funded by LDI and Live Design, the scholarships have been introduced to support the underrepresented and unique voices in the field of entertainment design. The scholarships are named for Pat MacKay, formerly publisher of Theatre Crafts and Lighting Dimensions magazines and founder of the LDI Trade Show and Conference. She is a USITT Fellow and has served as a mentor for multiple generations of industry professionals.

Rising Star Award

Established and sponsored by Live Design/LDI, the Rising Star Award recognizes excellence and artistic achievement in the areas of scenic, lighting, sound, and projection design, or the convergence of these design disciplines. The award is given at the beginning of a career to a young designer in their first four years of professional (non-academic) work, following the completion of their highest degree and presented at USITT Conference & Stage Expo.

Product Of The Year Awards

Each year, a panel of prestigious designers, programmers, and engineers awards several new products in the Lighting, Video/Projection, and Sound sectors.
