Lighting Product of the Year, Luminaire: PRG Bad Boy

When PRG unveiled Bad Boy at LDI2008, at least one designer responded with anticipation. “PRG’s Bad Boy is going to raise the eyebrows of many people in the industry,” said Patrick Dierson on the Live Design website just weeks before the LDI show, adding that the luminaire was “finally going to bring some life back to the arguably dying art of fixture manufacturing…The tech geeks and artsy designers will both be crowding around and with good reason.” Our judges tend to agree, with one saying, “Finally, a fixture that cuts through the super-bright wash lights that we have available today without having to dim the stage to see the aerial patterns. We can see our gobos again! What a great concept! It not only has a great feature set, but its functions are super-fast.”
