LD ASSISTANT 08 & AutoCAD 2008 CAD Training
Tuesday AND Wednesday, November 13 and 14

The study of light using photometric lights—a new way to explore the study of light and how it affects objects. Learn the new lighting and rendering tools found in LD ASSISTANT 08 and AutoCAD2008 and experience more speed, ease and accuracy than ever before. Photometric lights can use manufacturers' IES standard file format. By using manufacturers’ lighting data, you can visualize real photometric data in their lighting designs. Altman, Martin, and James Thomas have IES file and are included in LD Assistant 08. Taught by G.B. Stephens, associate professor of design, University of South Florida, and developer Rufus Warren of Design & Drafting Software Co.

Introduction to SFX 6.0 Audio Software From Stage Research

Get a jump-start on the newly released SFX 6.0 from Stage Research by attending this one-day, hands-on course taught by SFX expert Drew Dalzell. Learn about the new interface, audio engine, and other features you can use to create great sounding designs. Target Audience: Anyone who has recently purchased or who is considering purchasing SFX software for use in their venue. VectorWorks Training For Technical Production: Beginner
Tuesday, November 13 OR Wednesday, November 14

This intensive, one-day hands-on seminar provides a solid introduction to using VectorWorks for technical production. This is not a class on how to draw a light plot: Frank's half-day lighting design tutorial on Friday or Saturday is the perfect follow-up to this course and covers light plots. Topics include 2D drafting basics, designing on-screen with 3D modeling tools, creating a simple scenic design complete with finished floor plans, a 3D model, and a perspective rendering. Learn the technique of using the same data model for construction plans and pre-visualization. Taught by VectorWorks expert Frank Brault of Nemetschek North America, creators of VectorWorks Foundation and VectorWorks Spotlight. (Frank's full-day advanced design tutorial on Thursday is the perfect follow-up to this course!).

VectorWorks Training For Technical Production: Advanced

This intensive, hands-on seminar provides advanced training in VectorWorks Spotlight for technical production. This is not a class on how to draw a light plot: Frank's half-day lighting design tutorial on Friday or Saturday is the perfect follow-up to this course and covers light plots. Topics include advanced techniques on how to re-think pencil drafting techniques, and designing on-screen with 2D drafting Lighting and Audio Software Training and 3D modeling tools, creating a simple design complete with finished floor plans, a 3D model, and a photo-realistic rendered animation. Learn the technique of using the same file for plans and presentations. This class is for those with a solid understanding of VectorWorks. Taught by VectorWorks expert Frank Brault of Nemetschek North America, creators of VectorWorks Foundation and VectorWorks Spotlight.

This hands-on, four-hour tutorial provides an introduction to the essential skills of using VectorWorks Spotlight to create light plots. Attendees will discover the advantages of today's object-based lighting design programs: Create a simple light plot and from this data model, generate paperwork, sections, magic sheets and hanging cards! Also, learn how to seamlessly exchange data with Lightwright™. No lighting professionals should be without these skills in today’s entertainment industry.
