Osram Sylvania's “Color In Light” At LDI2010

John Selverian, research & development scientist, Solid State Lighting at Osram Sylvania, will present a technical presentation entitled “Color in Light: Understanding how spectrum, CRI, and color temperature relate to what the eye and camera sees” at LDI2010 on Saturday, October 23 from 1:30-3:00pm in meeting room N117.

In this session, Selverian will discuss LED lighting with some reference to traditional light sources, and various aspects of color quality, color spectrum and color stability will be described in detail. Special emphasis will be given to LEDs (mixing of pure colors) and LEDs with remote phosphor technology. The Osram Sylvania ColorCalculator will be demonstrated using a variety of light source and colored filter data. This session will also review how the ColorCalculator was used to design the OSRAM KREIOS® LEDs for entertainment.

Selverian has a 20 year history in the areas of modeling, simulation, design optimization and lamp fabrication and has worked extensively in developing LED solutions for entertainment lighting.

“Color in Light: Understanding how spectrum, CRI, and color temperature relate to what the eye and camera sees” is presented by Osram Sylvania, a leader in lighting solutions and specialty products that feature innovative design and energy saving technology under both the Osram and Sylvania brand names, as part of LDI’s new Meet The Manufacturer series of conference sessions, which are free to all LDI attendees.
