The AsteraApp, now in version 11, controls lighting and a range of customizable programs and effects. A new feature in V11, layer effects, allows full control over all pixels in an Astera lighting fixture. This works on rows or bars of pixels and can have various parameters adjusted, such as the size and position of the bar. Each bar can move at different pre-defined speeds and can display multiple colors, while an array of app effects can be applied. Shortcuts are available for effects like fuzz/police lights, fireworks, paparazzi, and more. Up to eight bars can be layered on top of one another. Optional new targets is a feature that displays the targets as a list, so users can see the previous effects sent to each target and edit them directly. The app works with other control methods and can be used to set up DMX addresses and CRMX control footprints. The company’s IR remote can be used to send App commands to single lighting fixtures.
