LDI and Showman Fabricators have announced that the initial group of companies to sign up for the Green Technology Today Showcase at LDI2009 are Clark Transfer/Touring Green, Tomcat, Rose Brand, Apollo Design Technology, Green Scene/Protech Theatrical Services. “The companies featured in the Showcase are at the forefront; integrating greener, more energy efficient products and services that are changing our industry,” says Bob Usdin, president of Showman Fabricators, who initiated the idea for the showcase.
These types of “green” changes, as well as other sustainable practices in entertainment technology, will be among the topics discussed at the first full-day conference Green Day: Greening in the Entertainment Industry, to held on Thursday, November 19 at LDI2009 in Orlando. The sessions are open to all LDI full-conference badge holders, 4-pack and 8-pack ticket holders, and exhibitors with exhibitor/conference badges.
The third aspect of LDI’s Green initiative comprises two new awards sponsored by Showman Fabricators: the first will be given for the Best Green Product of the Year from the unique products participating in the Showcase. Nominations are also coming in for the second award: Best Green Event/Show of the Year.
All LDI exhibitors are invited to participate in this first-time opportunity to showcase their company's sustainability initiatives in the entertainment industry or nominate a green event.
