Call for Sessions for LDI2020

Are you a designer, programmer, technician, rigger, electrician, technical director, or other entertainment design/technology industry expert? We’d love to hear your ideas for a solo session, a hands-on course, or a panel discussion at LDI2020. The final deadline is March 1, 2020 for all course suggestions for the LDInstitute, and April 1, 2020 for sessions or panel ideas in the LDInnovation Conference.

  • Courses for the LDInstitute are primarily full-day, or two-day, hands-on classes, such as lighting consoles, media servers, software, rigging, etc. The LDIntensives are full-day, in-depth sessions on a specific topic, from technology to project/production management.
    • Session proposal deadline: March 1
  • Sessions for the LDInnovation Conference are generally 30 to 90 minutes and can range from a solo talk to a panel discussion on entertainment design and technology subjects. If you suggest a panel, please confirm that all speakers are available to attend LDI2020 before submitting your session.
    • Session proposal deadline: April 1

Please note:

  • All speakers receive an LDI2020 conference badge as compensation ($695 value) and a speaker gift. LDI is not responsible for any travel or hotel costs associated with your attendance.
  • All speakers on each session must be fully confirmed before you submit the session idea.
  • Please make sure the written information correctly describes the session content in depth.
  • Please indicate if the session is on a beginner, intermediate, or expert level.
  • First-time speakers at LDI may be asked to provide two professional references that attest to their teaching ability and depth of knowledge.
  • We are especially open to sessions led by an ETCP recognized trainer or that carry ETCP credits, so that certified riggers and electricians can attend LDI to obtain renewal credits.
