Jennifer Tipton to Speak at Super Saturday

Jennifer Tipton to deliver Keynote Session at Stage Lighting Super Saturday. Ms. Tipton is famous for her lighting designs for Dance, Opera, and Theater. She has been nominated for five TONY awards for theater lighting and has been awarded two.  Ms. Tipton teaches theater lighting at Yale and is a MacArthur Fellow.

Super Saturday kicks off at 8:00 am on Saturday, February 15th, 2014, at the conveniently located Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City near Lincoln Center on Amsterdam Avenue and West 65th Street. The workshop is produced by Sonny Sonnenfeld and Scott C. Parker.

This popular annual seminar is designed for everyone involved in stage, architectural, or entertainment lighting. Sonnenfeld says, "The sessions are not too basic nor too advanced. Everyone who attends will benefit." The intense all day seminar will be led by theatre lighting professionals leading sessions about inspiration, training, product, and just doing it. The seminar is designed for new and advancing stage lighting designers, who do not want to become Broadway Lighting Designers. Subjects include Stage Lighting 101, conventional luminaires, LED and  Arc Source luminaires, color, special effects, consoles, moving lights, and other new topics.

Parker adds that "We expect 20 or so manufacturers and technical specialists will with us to demonstrate equipment.
