Robert Barnhart of 22 Degrees created a bold and balanced lighting design for the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show, which featured nearly 1,000 lighting fixtures. He chose PRG Icon edges on the upstage truss and side trusses to create beams for tempo and color while Vari-Lite VL4K Beam Washes handled the stadium audience if needed. This year, Barnhart introduced the VL2600 profile to back light the main stage and to do key light and back light for the side stages.

"The Super Bowl Halftime Show balanced creativity and scale with superior photography. The talent was always balanced with the backgrounds without losing the energy. The power of the lighting came through without losing the focus on the talent." — Bryan Klunder, a judge for the Design Achievement Awards
