Instead of a single “hero look,” with the comedian lit exactly the same throughout their routine, the lighting in Hannibal Buress: Miami Nights changes and evolves throughout the performance. For much of the time, the lighting had to be in perfect sync with the content of the video wall. Mike Baldassari's lighting had to adjust with every clip on the video wall – not just in support of the theatricality, but also to keep the color and balance correct for the camera to be able to capture the performance.
