CD+M Los Angeles recently created a dynamic, color changing display for the High Limit Gaming Rooms within the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The semi-translucent bottle display encompasses the entire back bar wall and highlights the custom Chihuly glass sculpture mounted directly above.
The structural conditions of the room severely limited the space available behind the acrylic panels and the curvature of this backdrop required a highly flexible lighting solution. Form following function, the lighting technology had to be slim, require minimal maintenance, generate low heat output and provide dynamic, color changing capability. CD+M selected a combination of 8" and 16" RGB LED strips (from Las Vegas-based YESCO) in lieu of neon as the best solution for the job. The successful result has provided The Mirage with a consistent luminous finish that complements the sophisticated atmosphere of these upscale gaming parlors.
