An esports tournament spanning over a month across Berlin, Madrid, and Paris, the 2019 League of Legends World Championship concluded at the Paris finals, which featured a massive Opening Ceremony, where video game characters were brought to life, balancing the story between projections on the HoloNet screens and the live performers on stage. LeRoy Bennett's lighting design for the Opening Ceremony featured precise, key lighting and acute attention to detail to avoid any reflections on the gauze. Bennett utilized the World Championship event’s ‘house’ lighting rig, supplied by TSL, which included 160 Robe moving lights, to which Bennett added another 91 Robe fixtures. The tournament segment of the finals was designed by Arnold Serame and co-designed by Mat Stovall.

"A clean rig that fills the space, provides sparkle, and allows the special effects to carry the viewer into the illusions." — Jenny Bloom, a judge for the Design Achievement Awards
