Vista Systems Soft Edge Blending Seminar In Seoul Draws Big Crowds

Vista Systems together with Stewart Filmscreen Corp.’s Singapore office, conducted a Soft Edge Blending Seminar in Seoul, Korea on January 24 and 25 to demonstrate the capabilities of the Spyder 353 image processor. The seminar's morning and afternoon sessions at the CoEx Exhibition Hall played to full houses; additional seats were found to accommodate the invited dealers, AV consultants and end users and prospective customers from the corporate, religious, home theatre, government, education and military sectors.

Organized jointly with partner Tovi Virtual Systems Corp. with support from Wolfvision Visualizers, the seminar was covered by local broadcasting network YTN. Tae Joo Park delivered the opening address, which was followed by an introduction to soft edge blending by Stevie Ng.

Tovi’s Hong Pil Park took guests through the presentation, which examined the techniques, requirements, and advantages of soft edge blending and the importance of selecting the right screen material for edge blending applications. The seminar was equipped with a Spyder system; a Stewart Filmscreen AT3 Frame System with Aeroview 70 for a 60x209-inch display surface; and three Panasonic PT D7700E 3-chip DLP projectors. Sources included Wolfvision VZ32 and VZ9Plus Visualizers; a Faroudja DVD player; a TviX HD media player; and a presentation laptop.

“The seminar, which drew packed crowds, was a big success,” says Ng. “It generated a great deal of interest in Spyder and edge blending, and we had a lot of positive response.”
