Design Spot 1200C from Elation Professional is a hybrid spot/wash fixture that features 1,200W (Philips MSR1200 Gold) output in a housing more typical of a 700W fixture. In addition to its narrow spot, the unit comes with a built-in variable frost filter as well as a variable zoom of 16° to 41°. The unit offers CMY color mixing; variable CTO; eight static/replaceable dichroic colors including CTB and UV; a gobo wheel with 12 rotating/indexing gobos; a separate animation effects wheel; two rotating/indexing prism effects; a motorized iris; a linear dimmer (0-100%); and motorized focus. The built-in wireless DMX receiver is from Wireless Solution Sweden AB and allows the unit to receive signals wirelessly from up to 3,000'. To use the unit wired, 3-pin and 5-pin DMX in and out connections are on board. It also offers remote DMX addressing from any DMX console and a built-in DMX recorder for storing and playing scenes from any external DMX controller. The unit can operate on 27 DMX channels in standard mode or 38 channels in extended mode. Pan is selectable at 630° or 540°, with 265° tilt.
