Strand Lighting at PLASA 2005 and IBC2005

Strand Lighting will be showcasing new sinewave and portable dimming products at both PLASA 2005 (September 11-14 in London) and IBC2005 (September 8-13 at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam). Visitors to the Strand stands will also be able to try out the latest Strand console software.

At PLASA, which spotlights new products in audio, AV, lighting, stage engineering and effects, Strand will display its new 3Pack and 6Pack dimmer products feature six 10A or three 25A dimmers in a compact rack or wall mounting package. The six-dimmer pack features a range of dual output sockets including Schuko, CEE17, and UK15A connectors. All dimmers feature MCB (SPN) protection and are convection cooled for quiet operation. A DMX input with patching is standard on each pack.

Appearing at both PLASA and IBC2005 for the first time is the latest dimming product from Strand Lighting: the new EC21 series dimmer racks. The new racks support a wide range of dimmers including Quad 2.5kW, Dual 3kW and 5kW and single 10kW thyristor dimmers. There are also dual 3kW and 5kW Sinewave modules and each features a fully symmetrical Sinewave output with less than 1% Harmonic distortion. Sinewave dimmers may be mixed and matched with standard dimmers in the same rack for complete flexibility. Strand Sinewave dimmers are designed to deliver completely silent loads.

The new 2.8.6 console software for Strand’s 300 and 500 series desks will also be on show at PLASA and IBC. The software features enhancements to reduce set up and programming time and offers support for the latest in moving lights.

Strand will introduce the new 1200W MSR daylight luminaires at both shows, extending the OneLight PAR and OneLight Fresnel range. Like the 575W units introduced last year, the new lights feature a quiet fully integrated high-frequency electronic ballast designed with ClearArc technology for maximum lamp life and performance. The new lights support an optional DMX control module.

At IBC2005, which showcases the latest technology in broadcasting and media for professionals involved in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment content, Strand will also display other Quartzcolor products, such as the Tungsten Halogen PAR range and new Fluorescent studio lighting units.
