Linear Puts Z-Wave Products in its Lineup

Not too long ago, Linear LLC bought up a few assets from Advanced Control Technologies, Inc. Now, they are putting that purchase to good use. The company just announced plans to add Z-Wave products into its lineup.

The company says that it will start to manufacture, sell and distribute a Z-Wave product line. Z-Wave is an international wireless standard for smart, interoperable, low-power, RF mesh networking technology. It allows for two-way RF communications between Z-Wave-enabled devices, so that products from different manufacturers can work together in one setup.

By adding Z-Wave products to its lineup, Linear will be able to will bring together appliances, lighting, security systems, all in one integrated wireless network.

Of course, Linear is no stranger to wireless security; they’ve been in that market for decades. However, by adding Z-Wave, the company now has access to a widely adopted wireless mesh protocol that’s easy to install, modular, smart, and affordable.

Z-Wave is also something that is currently being used in a variety of commercial applications. Adding Z-Wave products will broaden the company’s portfolio and its customer base.

“The adoption of Z-Wave is a significant step forward for Linear since it allows us to immediately upgrade our smart control offerings while bringing a whole new level of innovation and intelligence to our customers and dealers,” said Duane Paulson, senior vice president of product and market development. “Linear’s existing line of health and wellness, security and access control products will benefit from the interoperability Z-Wave brings, allowing us to build a unified platform architecture for both residential and institutional segments.”
