LDI Exhibitor Preview: Chauvet Legend 550 Spot And 8500Z

Chauvet introduces two new members to the Legend family at LDI. The Legend 550 Spot uses a Philips MSI 575W lamp and has a beam angle of 17°. It takes either 12 or 18 DMX channels and can also operate in sound-activated mode. The unit has two independently controlled color wheels, one with saturated colors and the other with pastels, color correction, and frost. Both color wheels offer step/split color possibilities and rainbow color spin at variable speeds. Two gobo wheels include a fixed wheel with nine replaceable, steel gobos and a rotating wheel with seven glass interchangeable slot-n-lock gobos and gobo shake and spin at variable speeds. Additional features include variable focus from a hard-edge beam to a defocused background, morphing effects, variable double-bladed shutter, and variable iris and dimmer. The fixture has a range of 540° of pan and 270° of tilt with automatic pan and tilt correction. A FasTap panel allows easy access for voltage changes and has both 3-pin and 5-pin data connectors. The Legend 8500Z moving yoke wash is the first of its kind to offer zoom and RGBWA color mixing in one fixture. The integrated zoom provides a variable beam angle ranging from 8° to 38°. Vibrant colors and fast, quiet pan and tilt make this fixture suitable for productions of all scales. www.chauvetlighting.com
