Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems Unveils Twist-Lock® Edge Series Receptacle

Shelton, Conn. – To help decrease installation time by more than 80% on electrical projects, Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems has designed the new Twist-Lock® Edge Series Receptacle featuring screwless termination(s). It’s the market’s fastest-terminating receptacle, letting installers get more done in less time.

Instead of using screws at termination points, a strong levered spring within the device continues to apply pressure as strands relax over time, keeping wires tight.

Any technician can quickly complete the installation by hand – no torque screwdrivers or wrenches are needed to secure the termination. Simply insert the wires, press the plunger, and watch the spring grab and secure the wires.

With this new termination method, NEC code 110.14(D) “Terminal connection torque” for requiring the use of a torque driver to secure the terminations is no longer applicable.

Because no metal is exposed on the device, the receptacles can be installed closer together.

Not only is the Twist-Lock Edge Series Receptacle easy to install, but it also provides a consistent, reliable connection – even in harsh environments that experience vibration, temperature cycling, or strand relaxation due to prolonged strain.

The receptacles are available in 20A and 30A versions to support many different applications

“Hubbell continues to innovate one of its foundational product lines,” says Mike Williams, Sr. Product Manager for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems. “Imagine the time savings when a task that typically takes at least one minute can be trimmed down to 11 seconds or less.”
