Need a few bright ideas on what to do with your lighting scheme? You may want to check out LightFair International 2013.
Crestron plans to show off a few new lighting and energy management solutions at this week’s show, which runs through April 25, 2013, in Philadelphia, PA.
Attendees can expect to see interactive demos of Crestron Integrated by Design, which will include wireless dimmers and switches, LED drivers, and DALI ballast solutions. All of the new products are based on open protocols, making each product future-proofed to support emerging technologies.
The first new product is the Crestron Green Light 50W and 100W Dimmable LED Driver. Available in 50- and 100-watt models with single and dual-channel options, GLD-LED drivers offer dimming technology using a combination of duty-cycle and current dimming. It’s also worth noting that this product line is operable between 120 and 277 volts.
Next up are Crestron Cameo Wireless Dimmers and switches. Designed for in-wall RF dimming of high-voltage and electronic low-voltage fixtures such as LED, incandescent, halogen and fluorescent light sources, Crestron ELV dimmers are available in 120-, 230-, and 277-volt to support dimming of any fixture in any type of building anywhere in the world.
The battery-powered infiNET EX Occupancy Sensor is designed to reduce energy costs and pump up efficiency of lighting and environmental systems throughout a building. It’s got a low-profile battery-powered form factor and adjustable sensitivity, which is perfect for smaller areas up to 500 square feet and to detect when a room is occupied.
Crestron will also be showing its Green Light Power Pack, which is designed to work with photocells, occupancy sensors, and control stations to automatically control lighting in any room. The Green Light Power Pack connects to a central control system, making it an integral part of a building’s energy management system.
Crestron Fusion EM Energy Management Software allows staff to measure, monitor, manage, and control lighting and HVAC systems, as well as energy usage in every room of every building, all from one convenient interface. Users can also schedule daily functions and events, including as temperature, shades and lighting level set points, demand response settings, global lighting and climate control for unoccupied spaces, and more.
Last, but certainly not least, there’s the Crestron Green Light 3-lamp DALI Ballast. This is the latest addition to the 1- and 2-lamp ballast line, which uses less than 0.3 watts in idle mode. Crestron says that one-, two-, and three-lamp configurations are available to support dimming for a wide range of linear fluorescent lamps.
“Gone are the days of throwing equipment away because technology advanced and the proprietary system could no longer be upgraded. Designing on open standards platforms liberates the design community to have buildings and lighting controls that adapt and enhance based on new technology, and never reach a dead-end,” says Mike Malone, Crestron VP of commercial lighting controls. “Our mission has been to develop the broadest, most open, digitally controlled distributed lighting control solution that can be fully integrated with all connected systems in the building. By acting on valuable feedback from lighting designers and specifiers, we’ve been able to accomplish that in the solutions we are launching here at LightFair.”
Crestron will be at LightFair International all week. If you’re in the area, stop by booth 545 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.
