Professional Convention Management Association’s (PMCA) Digital Event Strategist Course has been more valuable than ever since the onset of the pandemic as event professionals around the world adapt and re-skill. 2,000 people have completed the course globally throughout the last year, and last month, PCMA released a version of the course catering specifically to the Asia Pacific region, bringing APAC experts on board to provide local expertise and guidance.
PCMA has now entered into a three-year partnership with event production and technology company Encore to enhance the program and continue to support the hybrid future of events. The partnership will help deliver more sophisticated learning models, technology platforms, and business solutions.
“Over the past year, PCMA’s globally-recognized DES course has delivered a much-needed educational resource for event professionals designed by event professionals,” Sherrif Karamat, PCMA president and CEO, said in a statement. “This exciting new partnership with Encore will provide us with the platform to elevate DES to the next level.”
The Digital Event Strategist Certification is a completely online course that assists event professionals in all aspects of digital events, including planning and executing virtual and hybrid events from start to finish, monetizing and measuring digital events, and evaluating and selecting appropriate platforms and tech solutions.
“We are thrilled to partner with PCMA on this established and proven certification,” said Ben Erwin, Encore President and CEO, in a statement. “In-person events will be made stronger with the possibilities that virtual and hybrid events bring to our industry, enabling us to reach more people. We are proud to help our industry build for the future with expertise in a digital environment.”
The DES course is geared towards “all who create the digital event strategy, select leading technologies, make the magic happen behind-the-scenes or have been recently tasked with trying to figure out this new world of digital to reach new audiences with engaging content and interactive experiences,” which essentially applies to anyone in the events industry, and it is comprised of six modules including Q&A with industry experts.
Digital event expertise has never been more important, and this new partnership is sure to provide event professionals with additional support and training at a time when it is very much needed.
