Tait Technologies Is Launched To Meet Video Scenic Convergence Demands

Tait Technologies is a new joint venture between Tait Towers and Frederic Opsomer, founder of System Technologies, launched to meet demands of LED video and highly technical scenic applications and provide seamless integration for a unified solution. Effective February 1, 2010, the new company will be led by Opsomer, who assumes the position of CEO of Tait Technologies at the company’s headquarters in Waardamme, Belgium.

The new company will focus on providing the entertainment and event design industry with key services that include offering a European-based, rental fleet of Tait Towers’ scenic and mechanical products, custom-designed mechanical structures for the integration of video products, and design and development of standard and custom automation systems to seamlessly integrate video and scenic products into sophisticated presentation applications.

Opsomer’s background includes having worked on the massive video screen for the U2 360° Tour, alongside Chuck Hoberman, tour director/designer Willie Williams, architect Mark Fisher. He spent the last five years leading Innovative Designs, after Barco acquired the business of System Technologies, which he originally founded in 1995.

Tait Towers also boasts a long history of collaboration on major projects, including having supplied the stage sets for 18 of the top 20 highest grossing tours of all time, among which are tours for The Rolling Stones and U2. Current projects with Tait Towers’ stage sets include Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, and the upcoming Bon Jovi tour.
