Summer Tour 2019, Part One: Designing Train

Mainstream radio in the '90s and early 2000s was punctuated with iconic hits like American rock band Train’s “Drops of Jupiter” and Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris,” which spent 54 weeks and 18 weeks, respectively, on Billboard’s Hot 100 Airplay charts. Both bands continued to collect accolades and hits over the last nearly two decades, each selling over 10 million albums. Now, the two bands have paired up for a co-headlining Summer Tour 2019 with special guest Allen Stone.

Train's production designer Robb Jibson of So Midwest, Inc. created a large, clean canvas for different looks to complement their variety of work. Click through the slideshow for an in-depth look at the stage design, video design, and lighting design, and stay tuned for a look at Dan Hardiman's lighting design for Goo Goo Dolls.
