Last, but not least, for No Doubt’s reunion tour is LD Butch Allen’s lighting design. Working with creative director Ray Woodbury, Allen created a design that complemented the 48’x 22’ WinVision 8mm LED wall with Barco/High End Systems Showbeams 2.5, Vari-Lite VL3500 Wash units, and VL3000 Profiles. Lighting the set from within, under the drum kit and cone were Philips/Color Kinetics ColorBlast 12s, while Elation Impressions were also used from underneath the stage, as well as on the upstage truss. In addition, parts of the set were under-lit with densely packed Acclaim X-tubes, while the over-stage trusses was loaded with Martin Stagebars (both pixel-mapped to appear as low-res video elements). DL.3s also painted the stage with video or extended content out into the audience.
