Elation's Facebook Contest Sends One Lucky Fan to Concert Master Classes

In order to be the best, one must learn from the best, and in Live Design’s Master Classes, lighting designers learn tips and techniques from some of the best lighting professionals in the business today. This level of knowledge and education is certainly worth the expense to those who attend, but one lucky fan of Elation Professional’s Facebook page will get to go for free. The lighting supplier is sponsoring a contest that will send the winner on an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to attend the informative seminar and learn from the industry’s best.

The winner of Elation’s Facebook contest will receive round-trip airfare to Los Angeles, three nights’ hotel accommodations, meals, and ground transportation in Los Angeles, plus enrollment in the Concert Master Classes. Entering is easy: Just go to Elation Professional’s Facebook page, “Like” the page, and then fill out the entry form under the “LD Master Classes” tab on the left side of the page. Entries must be received by no later than 5:00pm Pacific Time on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 to be eligible.

Concert lighting and projection is the main focus of this year’s Concert Master Classes, which take place over two days, December 3-4, 2011 at the University of Southern California’s new Ronald Tutor Campus Center Grand Ballroom in Los Angeles. Legendary lighting designer Jeff Ravitz of Intensity Advisors, best known for his collaboration with Bruce Springsteen, will serve as creative consultant for the classes. The list of event speakers includes industry greats such as Steve Cohen, Butch Allen, Patrick Dierson, Bob Bonniol, Jim Lenahan, Anne Militello, Gurn Kaninski, Arnold Serame, Tim LaValley and many others.

In addition to learning lighting skills, tips, and techniques from some of the industry’s best, attendees will also have the opportunity to see the latest technology in lighting design, as Elation showcases its newest and most innovative products, such as the RDMS6 6-way splitter; the Opti Tri White, an LED PAR with cool, warm and amber lighting options; the Platinum Beam 5R, a classic ACL effect with cutting-edge Philips MSD Platinum technology; and the Opti Quad Par, an LED wash with 18 powerful 5W four-in-one RGBW (red, green, blue, white) LEDs for superior color mixing and smooth dimming. Other manufacturers will also have lighting on display.
