Concert Winner: Twenty One Pilots' Emotional Roadshow World Tour

Twenty One Pilots' massive 11-month Emotional Roadshow World Tour is playing venues ranging from 8,500 capacity to 30,000 with a sound that just won't quit, thanks to a 72-box Meyer Sound Lyon linear line array rig. The tour's design team includes creative and content director Mark Eshleman of Reel Bear Media and production designers Daniel Slezinger and Justin Roddick of Concert Investor. Tantrum was tasked with screen content, with Chris Schoenman as the primary content designer and director and Molly Gray as the executive producer of content. VER provided equipment and technical expertise for the tour's lighting, rigging, sound, and video.

Corporate Event Winner: Project Nightclub

Over Super Bowl 50 weekend, a renovated warehouse became Project Nightclub, housing concerts with Dave Matthews Band, Pharrell Williams, and Red Hot Chili Peppers as part of a large-scale corporate event for Direct TV and Pepsi. Patrick Dierson of The Activity designed the production, and Light Action Productions supplied the video, audio, and lighting equipment, which included Claypaky B-EYE K20s and Mythos units, distributed by A.C.T Lighting.

Installation Winner: Dubai Water Canal 2016, Sheikh Zayed Bridge
DTS was selected as supplier for the Dubai Waiter Canal waterfall lighting on Sheikh Zayed Bridge. The 160m water feature was illuminated by underwater projectors Bronze FC Helios, made by DTS. Read more about the innovative project.
Live for Broadcast Winner: Hairspray Live!

NBC Universal's Hairspray Live! featured lighting design by Allen Branton, who simultaneously lit 17 different locations, each with its own lighting scheme, on live television. Branton's design included Claypaky Scenius, Mythos, Sharpy, and Alpha 800 units among other fixtures, all controlled on seven MA Lighting grandMA2 consoles. A.C.T Lighting, Inc. distributes Claypaky fixtures and MA Lighting gear exclusively in North America.

Theatre Production Winner: Magic To Do
Princess Cruises partnered with Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz to bring Broadway-caliber entertainment to sea. Original Magic To Do features scenic design by Entertainment Design Corporation, who collaborated with lighting designer Ken Billington, illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer, and costume designer Dominique Lemieux to bring magic on-board.

Upscale Latin-themed nightclub and concert venue, Rumba Room Live opened in December in Anaheim, California with state-of-the-art Elation Professional entertainment lighting and video systems, supplied by Southern California-based production company Props AV.

At Oakland, California's Fox Theatre, a once Moorish Deco movie palace reincarnated as a 2,800-capacity multi-use performance space, Another Planet Entertainment installed a Meyer Sound Lyon linear sound reinforcement system to handle of forms of performance, from thrash metal, indie rock, and jazz to comedy and spoken word.
