Vortek Hires Matthew Courtney In Time For LDI 2007

Vortek shows its commitment to customer service by recently hiring Matthew Courtney as the Northeast regional sales manager. Courtney brings 20 years of experience as both a small business owner and a corporate manager. Most recently, he was the general manager for Theatrical Services & Supplies, Inc. (TSSI), a theatrical services integrator and specialty contractor in Hauppauge, NY. While with TSSI, Courtney managed and oversaw the completion of several New York area school, auditorium, and commercial projects. He brings a thorough knowledge of the theatre construction industry and an understanding of how theatre rigging systems like Vortek are integrated into facility design.

“I’m happy to be on board with Vortek. They bring a terrific technology to an evolving marketplace and answer an important need for safer, more reliable rigging systems. I look forward to helping our team in developing an awareness of this technology throughout the theatrical and educational communities,” Courtney comments.

As the Vortek sales team has grown over the past year, each new member has brought valuable experiences to the table. Courtney’s strong customer service focus and his experience with developing installer training programs will be of significant value.

“Improving our relationships with valued industry partners is critical to this mission,” explains Adam Smith, Vortek marketing services manager. “Developing better processes for handling customer needs and giving our customers the knowledge to install and operate our systems will be a big initiative over the next year. Matt will provide an added layer of support and guidance to Vortek’s dealings in the Northeast’s busy theatre market. He will also collaborate with the other members of the Vortek team to implement new sales and training initiatives on a national level.”
