Live Design's 2015-16 Products of the Year awards, selected by a panel of industry professionals, were presented, alongside the individual achievement and Excellence Awards, at the Live Design Awards Ceremony on June 13 at Upper Story by Charlie Palmer in New York. At the ceremony, Live Design content director Marian Sandberg presented the Lighting Product of the Year: Followspot award to the PRG GroundControl Followspot System, called “game-changing,” by several of our judges. It’s a simple idea: a remote-controlled followspot, taking away “the antisocial nonsense of climbing a truss,” adds a judge. And yet another applauds it, “not just because the product/functionality now exists, but because it’s actually also very well done.” Chris Conti of PRG accepted the award.
