Gareth Jones, Lori O’Hare, and Barry Thomson are pleased to announce their partnership together in the formation of a dynamic new lighting agency, The Medgar Lighting Group Inc., to serve the Oakville through Hamilton, Niagara Peninsula, Guelph/Cambridge/Kitchener, and the SW Ontario territory.
The new company encompasses the former Medgar Sales (Canada’s oldest lighting agency, founded in 1968) with the addition of Barry Thomson, who brings 28 years of lighting industry experience from his recent position as general manager of Thomas Lighting Canada, and assumes the role of president/partner. Gareth Jones remains the principal shareholder and will focus his efforts on specification lighting sales and business development. Lori O’Hare becomes a shareholder of the company while retaining the functions of quotations manager and office manager. This team brings years of professional experience in lighting design to its clients and a solid representation to its manufacturers.
The Medgar Lighting Group will continue to represent its core package of Thomas/Daybrite/Capri/Omega/Lite Energy, Lumec, Ledalite, and Gardco, along with its other key lines such as Beghelli/Luxnet, Leviton, USI Decorative Concrete Poles, Se’lux, Rebelle Architectural Lighting, Alkco, Guth, Lam, Vista, Eureka, Oval, Prima, B-K Lighting, McFadden/Trend, Sistemalux, and Color Kinetics. The new agency’s mission is to grow to be one of the preeminent lighting agencies in Canada, with heavy emphasis on service and integrity backing up its lighting application expertise.
