Effective January 1, 2003, KATIE Group Inc. will be relocating its world headquarters from North Hollywood to Los Angeles. The new address and contact information is: 2615 South Santa Fe Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90058, phone: 323-584-7900, 323-587-9189, and 800-648-9915, fax: 800-648-6687. E-mail and website addresses remain the same.
"The increased demand for Renaissance Lighting fixtures and Glass Illuminations fiber systems as well as the many other services provided by KATIE have forced this move," said Richard Hart, vice president. "We ran out of space and, at the same time, we ran out of lease," commented Tom Folsom, president of KATIE Group. The new location is about 20 miles south of the current location, directly south of downtown Los Angeles. The new space is approximately 60% larger than KATIE's current 9,000-sq.-ft. facility. "Hopefully this will give us some growing room over the next few years," said Keith Gillum, vice president.
KATIE will also continue its relationship with LA Propoint Inc., a full-service stage machinery and rigging company, which will be housed in the same facility. KATIE and LA Propoint recently successfully completed the renovation of Bovard Auditorium at the University of Southern California, including stage dimming systems, front-of-house motor-operated truss battens, curtains, and variable acoustics. The project was designed by Auerbach + Associates' San Francisco office.
