High End Rebuilds Hog Software Team

High End Systems Inc. has hired a number of additional software developers and technical support staff to ramp up its Wholehog lighting console teams in Austin, TX and London. Robbie Bruce, who returned to HES in November to help with the digital lighting product line, has taken the teams under his wing and will work closely with Richard Bunn, technical manager of Flying Pig Systems.

Robbie Bruce worked at High End Systems' Austin headquarters from 1991-98 as manager of control system development. He moved on to become director of product development for Motive Communications--a support software company in Austin for telecommunications and business work flow. At the same time, he remained a consultant to High End Systems.

Returning to HES as the director of software development, Bruce spends time in both Austin and London offices. "We are committed to the Hog products," Bruce says. "We're rebuilding and restructuring the group to ensure we can provide the level of support and development that Hog users expect. In addition, we've hired a strong team of software engineers who have the experience and knowledge to come up to speed quickly on this complex product. Our first task has been to ensure the stability of the extensive new features added this year."

HES chief technology officer Mike Wood says, "We are absolutely delighted that Robbie is back with us; his timing was just perfect. With his prior knowledge of lighting consoles and the experience he's gained in networking technologies and running large software projects at Motive, I just can't think of anyone better qualified to lead this team."
