Founder Of LDI To Receive Award From TEA

On March 21, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) will present the TEA Distinguished Service Award to Patricia Mackay. Founder of the LDI Trade Show, MacKay currently works for her content consultancy Ones&ZerosMedia and as editorial director for Quite Specific Media Group.

In 1982, MacKay bought Theatre Crafts, and acquired Lighting Dimensions in 1986. MacKay decided the entertainment industry needed a trade show to share the latest knowledge and technology. With over 100 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees, LDI made its debut in Dallas, Texas in 1988. The annual event has grown every year since. Theatre Crafts converted to TCI to include international coverage, then Entertainment Design, and eventually merged with Lighting Dimensions to become Live Designwhich continues to this day.
