Call Goes Out for Papers on Energy Efficient Lighting Systems

Intertech, the Portland-ME consultancy specializing in the fields of electronics, optoelectronics, magnetics, specialty chemicals, and advanced energy systems (not to be confused with the Intertec, the previous name of Primedia Business, the owner of Lighting Dimensions) has announced that its conference, Energy Efficient Lighting Systems—A Summit for Innovative and Market-Expanding Lighting Technologies, will take place at the Westward Look Resort Hotel in Tucson, AZ, February 20-22, 2002. The conference will feature more than 20 expert speakers discussing the opportunities and obstacles in existing and new markets for highly efficient energy systems in illumination applications. The meeting will be chaired by Kathryn M. Conway, principal, Conway and Silver, Energy Associates, LLC.

This international business forum will bring together top-level executives and industry leaders from the lighting community, component and equipment manufacturers, lighting distributors, major end-users, and electric utility and government energy-efficient program planners to discuss the recent rush to increase energy efficiency in lighting systems. Attendees will receive a complete briefing on market trends by lighting sector; new lamp and ballast technologies; international testing standards’ issues and trends in end-use markets with significant near-term growth potential. The meeting will cover the opportunities in HID, metal halides, compact fluorescents, and electro-luminescents, in order to assess the best materials and design solutions for energy-efficient lighting. Participants will get a thorough assessment of efficiency-driven illumination markets, and will have numerous opportunities to discuss issues and network with industry experts, key lighting executives, and end-users in a single-track, open-forum format.
