[Lite]Com Named Official Supplier For Eurovision 2016

SVT Swedish Broadcaster has awarded [LITE]COM Group the contract to be the official supplier of all lighting, control, truss, rigging and automation for Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The event will be taking place at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on 10, 12 and 14 May 2016, hosted by Petra Mede and Måns Zelmerlöw.

This will be [LITE]COM Group’s third production within the Eurovision organization, having been official supplier to Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark and Eurovision Junior 2013 in Kiev, Ukraine.

Eurovision Song Contest is an annual competition held among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Each member country submits a song to be performed on live television and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the most popular song in the competition. The Contest has been broadcast every year since its inauguration in 1956 and is one of the longest-running television programs in the world. The production is well known for its technical achievements and its equipment demands are high. For a live broadcast with approximately 200 million television viewers, nothing is left to chance.

[LITE]COM is quite familiar with the challenges of the Eurovision production, having supplied all the equipment for the 2014 show in Copenhagen. For the 2014 production, they delivered an equally high level of professionalism in a completely new venue that had not yet had a show within its walls, making for a challenging situation.

With almost 200 years of collective experience, [LITE]COM has a proven record of  realising national and international media productions and events in a broad variety of dimensions. In addition to being one of the fastest-growing technical suppliers in Europe, the company also offers pre- and post-production services and full technical support.

Technical Director Ola Melzig said of [LITE]COM, “I’m well aware of the fantastic work that [LITE]COM does. They have a passion for this industry that is reflected in everything they do – it’s not just another job to them. There’s no challenge too tough for these guys and I know that the desired result will be exactly what is expected.”

Rasmus Bremer, co-owner of [LITE]COM says, “We look forward to working with SVT and the talented crew that will put all the moving parts in place. It’s an honour to work on such a distinguished production as Eurovision.”
