A Full House for Barbizon Lighting’s Small Format LED Fixture Showcase in NYC

Barbizon Lighting Company recently hosted a private event for designers, consultants, and other specifiers of small format LED fixtures for theatre, museum/gallery, broadcast/film, and retail applications.

The majority of fixtures shown were less than 75 watts of power and could be single or multi-color. Fixtures from over 25 manufacturers were divided into three stations: wash/fresnel, profile/spot, and panel.

The four-day event instantly filled up and an additional day was added as each group was allotted time with someone who explained the different fixture options and also a board-op who controlled each fixture or any combination of them side-by-side.

“This is the fourth event we’ve done like this,” said Barbizon Lighting’s John Gebbie, “It’s a major undertaking getting the event all set up and taking and compiling photometrics, but manufacturers are pleased to know their fixtures are getting seen and the attendees really enjoy the ability to look at multiple fixtures at the same time in a no-pressure situation, allowing them to evaluate the different fixtures depending on the needs of their application.”

"Showcasing multiple demos at one of our locations is one of my favorite things that we do," remarked Barbizon Lighting CEO Tom Madden. "It’s an opportunity to welcome our customers into our space and provide a unique opportunity for the end user to demo dozens of fixtures in one stop. The growing demand for small format fixtures created an opportunity for this unique setup. We saw varying interest in the wide range of products based on each customer’s unique application, budget, and needs. If you missed the showcase, we are always more than happy to accommodate a one on one demo at any time. It’s as easy as calling one of our offices, and we will take it from there. We like to make things easy for our customers, and can even take the fixtures to you."
