Forecastle Festival Parties With Bandit Lites

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – The Forecastle Music Festival returned to Louisville’s Waterfront Park for three days of music spread across 85 acres. Bandit Lites supplied the lighting for the festival’s four stages, where more than 60,000 attendees enjoyed musical performances from Run the Jewels, Cage the Elephant, Odesza, Sturgill Simpson, PJ Harvey, Spoon, Weezer, LCD Soundsystem and nearly 50 other acts.

“Forecastle is a tight, well run festival that has become a standard in Louisville now,” said Bandit Lites Production Director Dizzy Gosnell, who orchestrated the lighting packages for the multiple stages. “We really lucked out on the weather, with storms dodging the site during the festival, everything went according to plan. Richard Wold, Kat Harris, John Monroe, John Ficklen and Sami Slovey from Lambda Productions were all fantastic to work with and really know what they’re doing, and the good people at AC Entertainment are really top notch at running big festivals.”

Forecastle’s mainstage, aptly named the Mast Stage for the nautical themed festival, featured Clay Paky Sharpys, Martin MAC Viper Profiles, Bandit’s exclusive GRNLite Moving Washes and Par 64s, Elation CuePix WW2 and a grand MA 2 full console for control.

For the Boom Stage, Bandit provided Bandit 5x5s, VL 2500 Spots, GRNLite Moving Washes, with a grand MA 2 console for control, while the Ocean Stage was comprised of Clay Paky Sharpys, Bandit 5x5’s, and GRNLite Moving Washes with a grand MA 2 Ultralite for control.

The Port Stage returned to its eclectic placement of under a bridge in the park, making the lighting a special kind of challenge. VL 2500 Spots, GRNLite 8 Lites and GRNLite Moving Washes ensured that the audience was treated to a formidable show.

Bandit’s precision in executing flawless festivals can be credited to the communication and support of Bandit’s staff, an effort Project Manager Matt King takes very seriously in coordinating all the elements of four stage systems,.

On site crew from Bandit included Patrick Sieg, Chris Noll, Scott Wesson, Vanessa Sexton, Teresa Fenlser and Elizabeth Weller.
